Well, tonight we have a very dis-edifying event to report. NBC's videos of the Peking Beijing Olympic games can not be streamed with a Safari 3.1.2 browser on a 1.42 GHz PowerPC G4. NBC apparently decided to use Microsoft's Silverlight technology rather than Adobe's Flash. I'm a big fan of Silverlight (f.k.a. WPF/E, Windows Presentation Foundation Everywhere, a .NET 3.0 technology). I'll have to see if the problem is in fact with Silverlight 2 because I have no problem viewing other web-based Silverlight videos. However, according to MacFixIt , I'm out of luck here.
